If you've ever wondered....

If you've ever wondered....what a day in the life of a pregnant mom with 2 boys on a cold winter day was like, well, I have an answer for you! EXHAUSTING!!!!
Friday day started with both boys bounding into the room as Trent was leaving for work. "Good mornin' mommy....I'm awake!" is what I heard from Wyatt. (pretty sweet!) Followed by, "Mom, just get up and take a shower...you don't want to be all stinky." (not so sweet!) from Will. So the kids cuddled in bed watching cartoons while I attempted to take a quick shower and listen for screams, cries or loud booms! Luckily it was pretty uneventful! Next is breakfast time. This is when I get to convince the boys we can turn cartoons on downstairs while eating as long as they do what I say, potty like big boys and get downstairs without fussing. We ate yummy bacon and toast with jelly...mmmm. For this I got a sweet, "good breakfast mommy". Then it was doing dishes, 2 loads of laundry, get the boys dressed, and play for a while. Around 11:00 I decide its time to clean up the mess from playing. We start in the bonus room and afterwards they get to play for a little bit as a reward for cleaning so well. Here is some sweet video from that time!

The first one is entitled, "Wild boys!"

This fun game was followed by, "hey lets play ball with the boppers!"

Will liked the camera and wanted me to "take a picture" of him singing. Here is "When We All Get To Heaven" by Will Napier...

Wyatt wanted to sing too...until I started recording him! He froze up and said "I don't know how"

After the sweet serenades, it was time to tackle Will's homework project. He was very uncooperative and I had somewhat of a hormone induced parental breakdown. This involves screaming, slamming things down and a few tears. It didn't last too long though, because the homework got put "on hold" for later, I made the boys clean up all the toys downstairs, fed them lunch and put them down for a nap. Ahhh...peace and quiet. I felt much better after a nice bowl of chocolate ice cream and about an hour of quiet time! AND it started snowing!! After nap consisted of containing the boys' excitement for the snow - playing, fighting, asking LOTS of questions, and the inevitable, "when can we go out and play mommy?" By the time Daddy got home, I was certifiably DONE! Daddy took over and I got to rest. Thank You!!!

Oh and here are some updated belly pictures. Week 23.
We haven't picked out a name just yet, but we're coming right along with the nursery. We can't wait to meet sweet baby!

A Fun Weekend

These pictures are from our fun weekend a few weeks ago. With the snow remnants still hanging around, we shopped around early Saturday morning until we found some sleds. Then, we spent all morning sliding down our road and freezing to death!

This is Will attempting to make a snow angel....I guess we needed a little more snow for that!

It wasn't long before the riding toys came out to play!

By the time we went inside, the boys were SOOOO cold it was painful. Wyatt was crying because his hands hurt :(

They warmed up quickly!

After lunch and nap, we headed to Portland for Landon's 4th birthday party. It was a Mickey Mouse party and the kids got to wear Mickey ears!

This was Will before he ate all the icing off his cake! He's fairly neat with eating, but it was funny because he immediately asked for more cake once the icing was gone!

I can't tell if Wyatt liked the orange soda or not?

After the party, we decided to go to Opry Mills to do some shopping and eat at Rainforest Cafe. Rainforest was a first for me and the boys and we LOVED it! We were in front of the gorilla's that would come "alive" every 15 minutes and wiggle around making noises. The boys were amazed when the "storm" would come and they wondered how it was storming inside. The elephant was also a big hit. We had to make a special stop on our way out to see that!
Our little explorers!

Tip: don't ask a 2 year old to say cheese right after he takes a giant bite!

Of course Will is going to "cheese" it up no matter what!

One of the big gorilla's we were watching.

Pretty things were everywhere!

We walked around the mall for a while and the boys spotted this shark and wanted to get close, but not too close! Maybe our next venture will be to the Aquarium restaurant :)

Potty Training Day 7 - whewww....

On day #7 of "only underpants" for Wyatt, I am thinking "it sure was easier when Will was at daycare all day during this potty training stage!" I don't think I really thanked his teachers quite enough for all the work they were doing! Whewww...running to the bathroom at least every hour just to try PLUS watching him very carefully to catch all the "faces" so we can run to the potty before accidents happen...it's exhausting! He is telling me "mommy, I have (insert type here) coming" and we run to make it in time.
Wyatt's doing pretty good though with only 2 accidents all day yesterday and many successful trips to the potty, I call it a successful day! We went cold turkey with the diapers. This seemed to work great for Will and from what I have heard other people say, it's a great way to train. He knows that he doesn't wear diapers anymore and at naps and night he wears "night time underwear" aka pull-ups. We have been to several public places and luckily no accidents. He LOVES his "potty chart" where he gets to put stickers each time he goes potty- 1 sticker for pee-pee and 2 stickers for poo-poo. It's hanging on the fridge and he shows off his new stickers to Daddy every day. He has tractors and scooby doo and spiderman and lightning mcqueen and thomas and farm animals and sports, pretty much anything and everything! He runs to his sticker pouch and says, "hmmm.....how bout dis one!" Then he gets to put it anywhere he wants to on his chart. Yesterday Will was looking at it and Wyatt comes up and says angrily, "don't look at my CHAARRTT!" (He was getting hungry and tired before naptime, he's not usually that grumpy) I explained that Will was just admiring all his stickers and was proud of him for going potty so much. Wyatt says, "oh, okay....see dis blue scooby doo...see dis little bitty kitty cat..."

Anyhoo...he's getting better and better at feeling it coming, and maybe this time next week, he'll be on a roll!

This video doesn't really pertain to this post but it's so cute. Will and Wyatt dancing after they watched Underdog with Daddy. Will's a natural break-dancer :)

Everyone needs a good poop check :)

Fair warning....this post measures a full 10 on the grossness meter! Continue reading at your own risk!

This is one of those stories we'll tell Will when he's like 16 to totally embarrass him. Okay, so we were at Trent's parents house this afternoon and Will was getting a little tired and pretty attitudal. He goes to the bathroom and comes out with both hands up in the air, an annoyed look on his face and says, "okay, who turned off the water to that sink?" (Pepaw was installing a new faucet and had the water turned off in the process) We explain what was going on and tell Will he can finish washing his hands at the kitchen sink. His hands were covered in soap, still up in the air and he was totally annoyed for the disturbance in his bathroom experience, but he goes to the kitchen and finishes the job. Since the kitchen sink is higher, he can't reach it as well and water is running down his arms to his back. He starts whining and crying, "Memur, it's cold....it's on my back....dry me off.....etc." All while holding his hands up in the air and acting as stiff as a robot.
Memur dries him off, comforts the overly dramatic response to wet arms/back, and we go about our normal business. After a few minutes, Memur, me and Will decide to eat some jelly biscuits. This cheers Will right up. He jumps at the chance for biscuits and jelly and happily agrees to change his attitude and eat with us. After he has downed a couple of biscuits, I notice some "chocolate" on the tip of his middle finger. Confusing, because we were eating strawberry jelly. Anyway, I try to wipe it off...no luck. I ask, "Will, what is this on your finger?" He replies as nonchalantly as can be, "it's just a little poop." I say, "WHAT? You have poop on your finger?! Let's go wash your hands again." As we're washing, I'm explaining to him that it's not okay to leave poop on your fingers, be sure to wash completely, it's dangerous to eat with dirty hands, etc. Then I ask the obvious question, "How did poop get on your hands anyway, Will?" He replies (again in the most common and obvious tone of voice), "Well, I had to check to see if there was anymore up there Mom". It was totally disgusting but hilarious! We couldn't help but laugh. The tone in which he said this seemed to be "duh mom, doesn't everyone stick their finger up their booty to check for more poop?" We were laughing and he was looking at us like, "what is wrong with these two crazies!" All I could say was, "okay Will. Well, next time lets try using toilet paper to check, okay?" How do you respond to that? I could understand a little better if he had a little tp breakage or a slip through or something, but completely on purpose?! I guess from a 5 year old's perspective, everyone needs a good poop check every now and then. Let's just hope that we keep it sanitary!

Snow Day!

All bundled up and playing in the snow. The boys loved it and didn't care how much accumulated, they just wanted to play!!

Will the "hunter" is hunting bears. He better watch out for our sweet Grizzly!

Gotta have monster trucks in the snow!

I think Wyatt was cold...he played a little, but mostly just walked around looking dazed!

Then the idea came to get out the 4-wheelers and play in the street (where there was the most snow!)

Here comes trouble!

They loved looking back at the tracks they were making!

This was right before my camera ran out of batteries. We got the arctic cat out and played with it and bulldozers, then decided to get out the boogie boards and attempt to sled!

All in all, a fun afternoon playing in our big snow storm :)

2010

Welcome 2010! Today is our big "snow storm" - according to the news people, "the biggest snow we've had in several years". At least, that's what was predicted. So far, it looks like powdered sugar covering a few flat, smooth surfaces! I'll post pictures later to see what the final result will come to! Meanwhile, the boys are so excited for the snow, they were looking out the back door watching it fall saying, "wooow, it looks like it's sticking. I see like, 3 drops on the deck". This was not exaggeration on Will's part, he was actually excited about it! While, they are napping, I hope it snows really hard so they'll have a little to play in this afternoon. Will's decked out in his "hunting clothes" - pass downs from Uncle Drew - camo overalls, coveralls, thick coat complete with orange hat! He's SO ready! Wyatt wanted to wear something similar so he has blue jean overalls but still says they are his "hunting clothes". so cute!
This year started out with a trip to a not-so-great part of town in the middle of the night in 15 degree weather to attempt to get Will into a GREAT elementary school. January 4th was the first day Union Elementary was accepting applications, so here I go at 2:00am to get Will on the list. I have heard stories of people faxing the apps at midnight, standing in line at 2:00am, etc. Of course the logical plan would be to fax, BUT of course this year, they changed the process and faxes are only accepted after the people in line are listed. Well, I went at 2 and no one was there, Thank Goodness! I went back at 5:30am and there were cars lined up all the way out of the parking lot into the road. I got in line and prepared to wait until 8:00am. Luckily, at 6:00am, the principal came and started taking our applications. He said they only had 36 spots open for new students and Will is number 21 so we should be okay. Whew!! Trent and I are very excited for Will to be starting his school career at such a good school!
In baby news, I had another doctor appt and all was well. I am 20 weeks--whoo, hooo - half way there! Gained 7 lbs since last visit...not good. That's on track for another 65 lb pregnancy. I will not do that this time! hmm...Maybe, the chocolate cake I just made wasn't such a great idea....
Back to Will and Wyatt, they are saying the cutest things lately and I'm trying to remember as much as possible to record. Just today, Will said, "you know what Mom? If you tell your son they have to do something, they will not want to". So profound for a 5 year old! :) He is so "grown up" in his thinking, seriously. Everything is very logical and serious. He wants to know "why" and "how" on EVERYTHING! I think school will be very fun for him, but I do foresee a problem with him questioning the teachers (like telling them they are wrong if he doesn't agree) and "talking excessively". :) Guess that's in his genes - TRENT
Wyatt's favorite things to say lately are "alrighty" and "oh, fooey". He gets a mighty attitude if someone doesn't listen to him, but is still in the sweet and cuddly stage. He has also been saying "that's all" with his little attitude. It's so cute though. Example: "Wyatt, what are you doing? Why are you pouring water all over the table?" - "I just putting water in dis cup, THAT'S ALL" He tells me all the time he wants to start wearing Elmo underpants. As soon as we all get well - currently, Trent, Wyatt and myself are all on medication and Will is a little snotty -I'll get him some underwear and start the process! yay!
