27 Weeks

Yay!! 27 weeks, this means only 13 more to go until baby arrives! It also means 3rd Trimester. Oh, the wonderful 3rd trimester. This is when things start getting really fun. I will balloon up to the size of a blimp. Will not be able to: tie my shoes, shave my legs, paint my toenails, pretty much anything that requires bending or reaching below the waist. Even putting on socks is already becoming increasingly more difficult. Well, such is the life I guess!

A little update on the most common question I hear...."How are you feeling?":
Answer: Tired, huge, hungry, my left hip hurts SOOO bad (I guess it's the sciatic (sp?) nerve that's pinched...I can barely walk in the mornings when I get up and then I am limping again by the end of the day), exhausted, grumpy then happy then grumpy again (revolving cycle of emotions), excited for the new baby to come, nervous about having 3 little ones to look after, short fused, did I mention tired?! Wow, that sounds pretty negative...it's not really that bad! I actually enjoy being pregnant. I'm not sick or bed ridden. I can eat anything I want...and I do. Food tastes REALLY good when pregnant. Did I mention hungry as one of the ways I'm feeling? I-am-hungry-all-the-time. Except, of course, right after I stuff myself with food, then I feel pretty miserable because there is just no room for all the food I just ate. But then, about an hour later, I'm back to hungry.
A tiny bit of my day is also consumed with looking after 2 very lively young boys! This week was great, let me say just great (insert sarcastic tone here). It started with Wyatt throwing up a bowl and a half of cocoa puffs/milk/snotty mucus stuff all over me (and my nice white robe), the kitchen floor, the TV and table under the TV, a few toys and of course, himself. That was really fun to clean up! Bending down, wiping up, and smelling that all the while Wyatt was crying - not on my top 10 list of fun things for a Monday morning. He was so pitiful though...after almost throwing up my breakfast 3 times, we calmed down and he had a nice lazy morning on the couch!

The next day was pretty much running errands, doing laundry, doing dishes, etc. Normal stuff which made the boys grumpy and bored. I must have worn them out though because Will took about 1 1/2 hour nap and then came to the bonus room and fell back asleep for 45 minutes like this!

The rest of the week has been more of the same. For some reason, both boys have been moody and tempermental. The sun is shinning today so we went out for a "Fun Friday". We went to Homegoods to spend more of my gift certificate and I promised the boys a "park" of some sort. After dragging the kids through Homegoods, finally making my final choices and standing in line to check out, I realized my gift certificate was NOT in my pocket. Very upsetting! It was sitting in the seat of my car....preggo brain strikes again. (I don't think I mentioned about my accident a couple of weeks ago....blocking it from my mind)
Wyatt was saying, "my hungry, my hungry" over and over, so we went to Chick Fil A for some good food and play time. The ENTIRE time we were there, Wyatt ate NOTHING and cried/whined about wanting to play. He waited until Will and I finished eating, then we went to play (where he whined and cried if anyone touched him or looked at him funny). Once we got in the car to come home, the whole, "my hungry" started again. They were SOOOO ready for a nap! Oh and while I was there, a lady was talking to me and asked, "When are you due?" I told her "May 25th, just about 3 more months" and she looked very shocked and said, "Oh....I thought...wow...3 more months?"
Seriously?!! I don't look that big do I?!

Oh well. It is what it is!
Update on the baby....our newest little baby boy is almost 10 inches long and weighs about 2lbs. He is very active, can suck his thumb, and even cry! So neat to know that all of that is going on and he's not even born yet! A little disturbed by the 2lb thing....so far I have gained aprox 25 lbs. So the extra 23lbs are just me?! Well, Trent and I are going for the 4-D ultra sound in a couple of weeks and I am so excited to see the little one! I'll be sure to post pictures from that experience.
That's all for now! TGIF!!!!

Sunshine, Beautiful Sunshine

Wow!! What a beautiful day! We finally had a bright sunshiny day today, and we took full advantage! It was really cold, but we bundled up, hopped in the stroller and headed to the playground. We left the house at 9:30am and got home around 11:30am. The boys had so much fun climbing and running and exploring the "woods" (several trees grouped together at the back of the playground where they hunt bears and deer and run wild!). We took their scooters along too and had a few scooter races! They also had "run races", as Will calls them, and then invented the "gallop races" where they raced like horses galloping. So cute! Here are some (cell phone quality) pictures from this morning!
Will climbing one of the new toys at the playground.
Wyatt did NOT want his picture taken. Every time he saw me coming, he would run away and say "no my say cheese".

Will, on the other hand, is a complete ham!

Finally got a cheese out of him!

The big Scooter Race :)

After lunch and nap, the boys wanted to go back outside to play. Luckily, it was a little warmer (almost 40 I think :) ) so we bundled up and played outside for another 2 hours this afternoon! We played in the backyard until it got too shady and then moved to the front. They rode many miles on their 4-wheeler, arctic cat, 3-wheeler, bikes and scooters!
Such a fun day!! Spring is coming....I can feel it :)

In Honor of Yet Another Snow Day

In honor of yet another cold, wet, snowy, can't go out and play day, we decided to create some "snow art". Will loved drawing and cutting out his snow and snowman and then "decorating" him with a crown and scarf. He even wanted to give him feet because he was making "a real snowman that could walk around". He drew roots for his tree and drew himself beside his new buddy Frosty.
Wyatt wasn't too interested in this project except for cutting paper. He's not quite ready to cut out on the lines, but he is great at any shredding job! While he was busy shredding his paper, I made a snowman for him.

Once that was completed, the boys decided they wanted to paint. Will painted this awesome snow storm. I love it! I think he did a great job of swirling the snow all around just like when it's storming outside.

Wyatt loves painting! He calls this "Go". Maybe he feels we do too much running around all the time, and even when it's snowing, we are constantly on the go!

I painted with them too. This is my (apparently humpback) deer walking around the snowy, colorful forest! I know, I know...it should be in a gallery somewhere :)
A fun morning with a tasty afternoon to follow. This afternoon we are baking cookies. Mmmm....I'm thinking oatmeal chocolate chip!

The "Fun" Snow of 2010

Isn't it beautiful!?! So I'm finally posting some pictures of all the fun we had playing in the big snow storm of 2010 a few weeks back. I'm calling this the "fun snow" because we have had so much of the nasty, soggy, mess-up-your-day snow that does nothing but freeze the ground and then get nice and muddy when the temps rise a little. It looks really pretty falling from the sky, but it doesn't accumulate to much. So...in spite of the yucky weather lately, here are some fun, happy pictures of real snow!
Will loved playing in the snow. We got about 4 inches at our house and some places had 6 and 7 inches! We went sledding in the neighborhood first and then ventured to Mom and Dad's house to play on bigger hills.

Wyatt and Trent getting ready to walk up the hill on our street. Wyatt still didn't like sledding but enjoyed being outside in the snow.

This was so cute...didn't work too well, but it was cute!

Will smiled all day!

Wyatt was smiling under that big hat!

The one and only time Wyatt got on his sled. He didn't ride, just posed for the picture :)

A neighbor let us ride their fun sled too. This went way faster than our circle ones!

We got to Mom and Dad's and got out the OLD sled (as Mom kept saying, "it's over 60 years old") but it didn't work too well in the deep snow. It was just not packed down enough for this one!

Of course, we had to try the 4-wheelers. Ours wouldn't go at our house but maybe the one at Nannie and Papa's will!!!......

Nope, even with a good push from Daddy, no luck!

We had fun anyway. Found a great steep hill that would go really fast!! Nannie and Will had so much fun!!!

Aren't they cute!

This was a giant hill at Mrs. Jennifer's beside Nannie and Papa's house.
Nannie was a trooper! She kept up with Will all day!! Even with falls like this :) Trent was the designated pusher, so he didn't get much slide time. He did get on a few times and attempt it though! I wish I had video of his "inch worm"!! It was hilarious!!! He put both circle sleds together - hands on one, knees on the other- and "inched" his way down the hill. Too funny!!!!
Will not only loved sledding down the hill, but he also loved falling off at the end! He would barrel roll down the hill after he fell off the sled! He was COVERED in snow!

Now....we've had our fun and we've seen all the picturesque snowy landscapes...bring on Spring!!!

Quote of the day

So potty training a little boy is always interesting! Words that are typically taboo are suddenly spoken all the time no matter the time or place! Lots and lots of laundry, many messes around the house (possibly other people's houses as well as grocery stores, etc) just become the everyday norm. Wyatt's much better with accidents now (typically only 1 per day) and has had a couple of "accident free" days as well!!! They also become totally obsessed with other people going potty. Each time I go to the...bathroom (originally typed potty here by habit but corrected myself since I am a grown-up...you have to do that every now and then when constantly around little ones!) Wyatt says, "can I watch you?", then "your pee-pee coming out, Mommy?" followed by, "can I see your pee-pee?". Sometimes I even get a "that's a big girl, Mommy!"Surprisingly, you get used to this and it doesn't seem so weird!!
Well, the other day Wyatt wanted to watch Daddy "go potty". While they were sitting there, Wyatt asks, "my have a wee-wee?". Dad says, "yes". Wyatt asks, "you have a wee-wee?" Dad says, "Yes". Wyatt asks, "Mommy have a wee-wee?" Dad laughs a little and says, "no, mommy's a girl and girls don't have wee-wee's." Wyatt says, "Oh.....she just poop then?"

Oh, the mind of a 2 year old.... :)
