Time

Okay so I saw this on Facebook a while back and thought it was so true. I feel exactly like this most of the time and just wanted to put it out here so when I look back at my blog book 10 years from now (because in 10 years I'll have TONS of time on my hands compared to now....maybe?) and think, what took up all my time back then, I'll have an answer. On a side note, it doesn't matter that I am currently online buying yoga dvd's, looking up exercise routines, checking friends' blogs and facebook as well as updating my own blog...when I should be - creating a grocery list and gathering coupons, finishing the laundry that is waiting and of course cleaning the house couldn't hurt either. In about 10 minutes all 3 boys will probably be waking up and I'll have a house full of laughing, crying, sometimes screaming, playing, loving little kiddos....Oh where does the time go...

The Fastest 2 Months Ever

I cannot believe it has been 2 months since Weston was born!! Okay, so I'm a little late (he's like 2.5 mos now) but time is going so fast! We just got back from vacation in Gatlinburg and I'm trying to catch up! Weston has grown so much and has developed his own little personality. He is very sweet and LOVES to cuddle. He loves to be rocked when he's sleepy and LOVES to eat! He eats 6 times per day 3 hours apart for about 15-20 minutes each meal. I have given him 1 bottle of "mommy milk" just to make sure he can take a bottle okay, but haven't been away from him at mealtime yet. He is sleeping consistently from 9pm - 6am and takes several small naps per day for about an hour each. He is really starting to "talk" to us with his coos and caas. When we talk to him, his face lights up and he smiles and laughs.

He has the cutest dimples under his cheekbones when he smiles! He is a very content baby. He really only cries when he has a poopy diaper or it's time to eat. He's happy just to sit and look around and his favorite game right now is staring at his hands. At the 2 month well baby visit, Weston weighed 12 lbs, 7 oz putting him in the 75th percentile. He height was 23 inches (90th percentile).

On vacation, we decided he might want to go swimming.....

...bad idea. The swimmy diaper (size small) went all the way to his chest and the FREEZING cold mountain water was not enjoyable for him!

We also went hiking to a waterfall. Weston liked hiking. He slept the whole way in the snugly, got to eat and play when we reached the top and then slept the whole way back.

It was a little hot (heat index approx. 104), but he didn't mind!

The past 2 months have flown by. At times it seems like it's going very slowly and I can't wait for a certain stage to be over or the next milestone to be met, but overall, this age is so sweet and it's going way too fast!

say what?

Picture from our adventure today...Rachel and I took the boys to the Lebanon kiddie pool. They had so much fun and are still sleeping (so far a 2 1/2 hour nap)! - Someday Weston will be big enough to get in group photos!
Anyway...here are a few of the more common things we hear around the house these days :)

From Will: Age 5 1/2 years
  • "whoa!! That's awesome!!" - doesn't really matter how much of a "wow" factor the subject really has, everything gets a dramatic emphasis.
  • "uh Wyatt....Wyatt...Wyatt..." - He says Wyatt's name approximately 184 times per day...you think I'm exaggerating?
  • "Mom, I wanna...(insert pretty much anything here like - snack, go play, watch a movie, get a toy, etc)"
  • "uh...it's not fair!" this is typically followed by Wyatt saying, "uh huh...it's plenty fair"
  • Lots and Lots and Lots of questions...about anything...he is definitely not afraid to ask questions and he LOVES to learn
  • Will also does great impressions and knows the words to most any song.

From Wyatt: Age 2 1/2 years

  • "My think my gotta pee" - typically while dancing, holding himself and starting to whine a little while waiting for me to tell him that he can go by himself.
  • "You're a wheatie-pie Mom" (sweetie-pie). I love to hear him say this because it's so cute! He has a little problem with the "s" sound right now :) - Also cute is "my all whetty" (sweaty); "my wanna go women" (swimming) and "where's my wingy piedy" (swingy spidey aka swinging spider man toy)
  • "My a rock star" - don't really know where this came from, but he says this in a very gruff voice and then plays a mean air guitar
  • "actually" He says this all the time! For example, "hey Mom, well actually Dad" or "my want milk, well actually apple juice"

From Weston: Age 1 1/2 months

  • okay so he doesn't really say much just yet but he grunts alot
  • he also has the crying thing down pretty good
  • We have even heard a few laughs from Weston!

The Number One thing I hear these days: "MOM"

There's the:

  • mom in a scared voice
  • mom in a mad voice
  • mom in a whiny voice
  • mom in a "I am going to seriously hurt my brother if you don't come in here" voice
  • And my favorite: Mom in a sweet voice, "Mom, I love you" followed by super sweet hugs.
